Find the main shut-off
It's where the water pipe comes into the house: often the basement, a utility closet or beside the water heater.

Turn it clockwise
Turn the handle to the right until it stops. A lever valve only needs a quarter turn, so it sits across the pipe.

Drain what's left
Open the lowest tap in the house to empty the pipes, and turn the water heater to off or pilot.

Yes. A person answers every call, day and night, and a plumber is on call every night of the year. Night and weekend visits are $95 extra, and we tell you before we come.
How fast can you get here?
For a leak or burst pipe, usually within the hour across Westport, Weston, Wilton and Norwalk. Most other calls get a visit the same or next day.
